WHAT RKIDS (LITTLES, BIGS, & JUNIORS) ARE LEARNING THIS MONTH:
This is a 4-week series where kids will follow the life of the prophet Elijah. Screenshot weeks 1-4 so you can continue the lesson at home by opening the Bible together and discussing the family questions. This can be done when you kick off your weekly sabbath practice as a family or it can be done on a weeknight around the dinner table. Have fun continuing these fun lessons at home!
WEEK 1: June 7th & 8th
This week, kids hear how God provided for Elijah and a widow during a drought.
BIG IDEA: God helps me find what I need.
BIBLE: 1 Kings 17:2–16; Psalm 97:1–6
Family Questions:
1. Through Elijah, what miracle did God provide the woman and her family?
2. Name one need you have that God has given you already.
WEEK 2: June 14th & 15th
This week, kids hear how Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal and proved God is the real god.
BIG IDEA: God hears my voice.
BIBLE: 1 Kings 18:16–39; Acts 2:1–21
Family Questions:
1. What did Elijah suggest to do to prove which God the people should worship?
2. Who are the people in your life that always hear you?
WEEK 3: June 21st & 22nd
This week, kids hear how Elijah ran away from Queen Jezebel and how God kept Elijah safe.
BIG IDEA: God guides me when I'm scared.
BIBLE: 1 Kings 19:1–9a; Psalm 85:8–13
Family Questions:
1. What did God provide for Elijah while he rested before going to Horeb?
2. What are some things that scare you?
WEEK 4: June 28th & 29th
This week, kids hear how God appeared to Elijah to comfort him.
BIG IDEA: God comforts me.
BIBLE: 1 Kings 19:9b–18; 2 Corinthians 1:3–7
Family Questions:
1. In what ways did Elijah think God was going to speak to him?
2. What are some things that you find comforting?
