WHAT RKIDS (LITTLES, BIGS, & JUNIORS) ARE LEARNING THIS MONTH:

LITTLES, BIGS, and JUNIORS will continue through the book of Genesis and explore how Abraham’s family navigated challenges and blessings while learning how we can care for our families, serve them well, and remember that we’re all part of God’s family. As they do, kids will learn that we can believe God’s promises, we can pray for our families, we can trust God to provide, and we’re all welcome in God’s family.

Week 1: July 5
Kids hear how God called Abram to move away from home to Canaan with his family.

  • BIG IDEA: We can believe God’s promises.

  • BIBLE: Genesis 12:1–5, 13:1–18

  • FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS:
    - What promise did God give Abram?
    - How might you have responded if God sent you to a new land?

 

Week 2: July 11th & 12
Kids hear how Abram asked God to spare Lot’s family instead of rolling the dice.

  • BIG IDEA: We can pray for our families.

  • BIBLE: Genesis 18:20–33, 19:15–29

  • FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS:

    - How did Lot and his family escape the city?

    - Who can you pray for in your family?

Week 3: July 18th & 19th
Kids hear how God gave Abraham and Sarah a son named Isaac, and it was their turn to show their love and faith in God.

  • BIG IDEA: We can trust God to provide.

  • BIBLE: Genesis 21:1–6, 22:1–14

  • FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS:

    - What did God provide for sacrifice in place of Issac?

    - How does God provide through other people?

Week 4: July 25th & 26th
Kids hear how Jacob and Esau always made moves to win against each other.

  • BIG IDEA: We’re all welcome in God’s family.

  • BIBLE: Genesis 25:19–34, 27:1–33

  • FAMILY DISCUSSION STARTERS:

    - How were Jacob and Esau different from one another?

    - How can you celebrate the unique ways your family members are different from you this week?
